- Description
- «Games of the Gods» is the central piece on Semion Krivenko-Adamov's album of the same name, inspired by the imagery and symbolism of ancient mythology.
The epic opening of the piece symbolizes the ancient peoples' perception of thunder and black skies as manifestations of divine wrath, inspiring fear and awe. However, as the music develops, the majestic image of Olympus gradually changes: behind the outward might, a world of rivalry, ambition, intrigue, and human passions is revealed. The gods appear not only as all-powerful masters of the elements, but also as beings endowed with weaknesses so familiar to humans themselves.
